March was Women’s History Month, we celebrate the extraordinary Sorors of Sigma Gamma Rho who have broken barriers in politics:

Soror Robin Kelly – First Black woman to represent Illinois’ 2nd Congressional District, fighting for gun violence prevention, healthcare, and economic growth.

Soror Barbara Lee – First woman to represent CA’s 9th (now 12th) District & the first Black woman to represent Northern CA. The lone voice against AUMF after 9/11, she stands for peace and diplomacy.

Soror Gwendolyn Cherry, Esq. – The first Black woman elected to the Florida House of Representatives, a fierce advocate for civil rights, women’s rights, and education.
