DOS Adopts Leawood Elementary School

Delta Omicron Sigma Alumnae Chapter Partners with Columbus City Schools
At the beginning of this sorority year, the Delta Omicron Sigma Alumnae Chapter proudly partnered with Columbus City Schools, establishing SGR Day on the 22nd of each month. On SGR Day, our members dedicate time to engaging with students in their classrooms or as lunch buddies. Activities include practicing tasks identified by teachers, playing educational games, and spending valuable one-on-one time with the students.

Our commitment to the students has allowed our chapter members and Philo Affiliates to model kindness, enhance problem-solving skills, and help students develop the social skills necessary for forming healthy relationships. This partnership also enabled us to support teachers by providing school supplies from their wish lists through our National Program, Operation Big Bookbag.

Throughout the year, we have celebrated and supported the school community in various ways:
• Participated in the Black History Month Program
• Recognized Ms. Daphine Mason on Administrative Assistant Day.
• Honored the teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.
• Participated in Career Day, where our very own Emergency Room Nurse spoke to students about life as a nurse.
• Concluded the school year with our Philo Affiliate participating in Field Day.

Delta Omicron Sigma is honored to have positively impacted the students of Leawood Elementary School. We look forward to sustaining this partnership for many years to come.
