Happy 22nd! Sigma Gamma Rho stands in royal blue & gold beside the pink ribbon to honor survivors, thrivers, and the loved ones we carry in our hearts. Inspired by Soror Hattie McDaniel the first Black woman to win an Academy Award whose life was cut short by breast cancer, we commit to early detection, equitable research, and care that saves women’s lives.

Today, we call on our members and affiliates to:

Get screened: Early detection saves lives.

Spread awareness: Wear pink and share educational resources.

Support the cause: Partner with local organizations, donate to research initiatives or volunteer at events that raise awareness.

Show love: Reach out to someone fighting breast cancer with words of encouragement or an act of kindness.

Together, we amplify awareness with action because our legacy is service, and our story is resilience.
